Getting Pregnant – Early signs of pregnancy

The most common early sign of pregnancy has always been the interruption of your regular cycle. If you miss your period, you might be pregnant. However, there are other changes your body goes through in the first few weeks that might raise your suspicion of pregnancy.

Most women experience morning sickness during the first or second trimester of their pregnancy, but for some it starts early. If you’re waking up nauseous, or if your morning commute is making you puke, you might be pregnant.

When the embryo implants itself into the uterine lining, your body works to ensure that it’s safe and securely fastened. This may cause you to experience cramps. If you’re experiencing sharp aches and pains between periods, especially distinct cramps, you might be pregnant.

Making a baby puts a strain on your body’s resources. If you find yourself unusually tired, you might be pregnant.

Once conception’s happened, the uterus retracts a little from the cervix, positioning itself deeper into your body to protect the womb. At the same time, the womb is growing. Ordinarily, the uterus provides structural support for your bladder. But as the uterus grows, it gives the bladder less and less room. If you find yourself going to the bathroom more than normal, you might be pregnant.

If you have any two of these early signs, it might be time to use an early detection pregnancy kit or see your doctor.
